Abstract
1,161,586. 5<SP>1</SP> Desoxy 51 - fluoro - substituted desoxyribonucleosides. DEUTSCHE AKADEMIE DER WISSENSCHAFTEN ZU BERLIN. 15 Jan., 1968, No. 2073/68. Heading C2C. Compounds of the formula where R 1 is H or acetyl, and R 2 is a substituted or unsubstituted purine or pyrimidine radical, are made by reacting an optionally acetylated 51-arylsulphonyl or 5<SP>1</SP>-mesyl-substituted 2<SP>1</SP>-desoxyribonucleoside with an alkali metal fluoride for 15 minutes to 5 hours in a solvent at a temperature of 50-160‹ C. After separation of the precipitated alkali metal aryl-sulphonate, the reaction mixture is evaporated in a vacuum and the residue taken up in a solvent mixture then separated into its components by multiple column chromatography.
