Abstract
1,161,526. Feeds in drawing &c. presses. MASCHINENFABRIK WEINGARTEN A.G. 25 April, 1967 [26 April, 1966], No. 19088/67. Headings B3H and B3Q. An assembly of presses comprises a plurality of presses 1, 3, Fig. 1, operating continuously and performing the same number of strokes, each press having feed means 4, 6, 8 for feeding work into the press and discharging it to a conveyer 5, 7 for supplying the next press and means for synchronizing the presses. The conveyers are driven by the press-drives or by separate drive means, and the presses may be crank-operated and synchronized electronically by a conventional " electric shaft " 2 so that all the press-rams pass through their upper deadcentres at the same time. The gripper 4 transfers the work from the drawing press 1 to an inverting conveyer 5 which transfers it to the gripper 6 for feeding it to the next press 3. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), gang presses are included having two rams, and the grippers (10) also transfer work between the stations of the presses. In a further form, Fig. 3 (not shown), single ram gang-presses are included. Belt conveyers, which operate at higher feedspeeds than the grippers, may be used between the presses.
