Abstract

1,161,496. Spray-producers. T. A. HARRIS Ltd. 21 Aug., 1967 [19 Sept., 1966], No. 41678/66. Heading B2F [Also in Division F2] A nozzle construction for a water tap comprises a nozzle lip 11 surrounded by a shroud 13 integral with, spaced from, and depending below the lip, and a side pipe 6 joined to the nozzle such that the lowest external point 14 of the junction between the side pipe 6 and the nozzle is below the nozzle lip. The construction prevents the noozle lip 11 being immersed in a. liquid and being contaminated thereby, especially for use in hospitals. A screw-threaded pin 15 screwed into the shroud 13 extends across the annular space 12 between the clip 11 and the shroud 13 to prevent the attachment of a hose to the nozzle lip The construction may be applied to a bib-cock as shown or to a swan-necked pipe (Fig. 2, not shown) connected to a hot and cold supply fitting for surgeons' hard basins. The swannecked pipe includes a straight portion (18) joined to the nozzle.
