Abstract

1, 161, 409. Lens focusing devices. GNOME PHOTOGRAPHIC PRODUCTS Ltd. Feb. 1, 1967 [Nov.25, 1965], No.50176/65. Heading G2J. The lens of a slide projector or other photographic apparatus is axially shifted for focusing by engagement with the lens barrel 3 of a lug 6 on a lever arm 8 pivoting at 9, the angular movement of the arm being damped by the device 16. This device consists of an element (19, Fig. 3, not shown), rotatable between fixed discs (17) and (18), and having an extension (20) connected to the lever arm through a slot and pin (23). A viscous grease or plastics wafer fills the space between the discs and element (19). Lever 8 may be manually operated through end 10, or through two opposed solenoids 14, 15 having a common armature 12 whose plunger 13 engages the rubber-covered pin 23.
