Abstract
1,161,187. Vehicle heaters. FORD MOTOR CO. Ltd. 8 June, 1968, No. 27358/68. Heading F4V. A vehicle heater comprising a heater matrix 13 positioned at one side of a duct 10 has a pair of pivoted flaps 17, 18 which, in the position shown, deflect some incoming air through the matrix and allow some air to by-pass the heater. If both flaps are raised the duct 10 is closed above the matrix and all air is diverted through the matrix. If both flaps are lowered no air passes through the matrix. The matrix is supplied with hot water from the vehicle engine cooling system. The flaps 17, 18 are controlled from the passenger compartment. A fan may be provided.
