Abstract

1,160,977. Pesticides containing benzofuranyl carbamates. FISONS PEST CONTROL Ltd. 4 July, 1967 [21 July, 1966], No. 32849/ 66. Heading A5E. [Also in Division C2] Plants, areas (e.g. soil), animals and materials susceptible to attack by pests (e.g. wood, paper, fabrics and textiles), may 'be treated with a pesticidal composition which comprises, as the active ingredient, a compound of the formula: wherein R 1 , R 2 , R 3 and R 4 are the same or different and are hydrogen or alkyl, R 5 , R 6 and R 7 , which may be the same or different are hydrogen, alkyl or halogen, R 8 is alkyl, propargyl or allyl, but is not methyl when R<SP>5</SP>, R<SP>6</SP> and R<SP>7</SP> are each hydrogen, and R 9 is alkyl. The compositions may also comprise at least one of the materials selected from wetting agents, solid diluents, solvents, and edible substances attractive to pests; fertilizers and other pesticides such as herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, molluscicides and bactericides e.g. DDT, BHC or alpha-naphthyl-N- methylcarbamate may also be present.
