Abstract
1,160,833. Purifying machine tool-coolant. W. GRAH and C. H. BACH. 18 Aug., 1967, No. 38065/67. Heading BID. Used machine tool-coolant water enters a settling tank 4 by inlet 5, flows from overflow 6 into a funnel shaped vessel 3 and is filtered by downward passage through filter 2, a pump 7 delivering the filtered water to a hydrocyclone 9 from which the residual solids are returned to tank 4 while conduits 10, 11 deliver respective fractions of purified water back to the machine tool and into storage tank 1. Water flows from tank 1 through passages 12 into vessel 3 and dilutes the solidscontaining water delivered to the hydrocyclone, thereby increasing its efficiency.
