Abstract
1,160,604. Cables. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd. 17 Aug., 1967 [19 Aug., 1966], No. 37858/67. Heading H1A. The cable armouring is formed of filaments of thermoplastic material reinforced with glass fibres. The filaments are either woven into tapes wound in overlapping relationship round the core or woven into a hose around the cable core. If there is a lead sheath between the core and the armouring the latter may be perforated to improve earthing. The thermoplastic filaments may be interwoven with wire. A layer of thermoplastic foam may be provided between the armouring and the core.
