Abstract

A clip for connecting together at an angle rods 16, 18 for use in reinforcing concrete has a base poirtion 13 from which extend converging walls 14 having outwardly diverging lips 15, and a tongue 17c struck out of the base portion and bent over. The lips .15 may be engaged by the converging flanges 21 of a wedge-shaped keeper 19. The clip may be made of steel or plastics. 1,160,063. Door check, arms. WILLIAM TYERS & CO. A door check arm for motor vehicles is provided with a pair of sliding members 26 and 27 (Fig. 3) urged into contact with appropriate faces of an arm 10, and carried in a pair of housings 19 and 20 (Fig. 1) formed by a channel-shaped part 18 of a check plate assembly 14, the sliding members being urged towards the arm by compression springs 25 located in said housings. As shown, a door check comprises an arm 10 in the form of a plate formed at. one end with an eye 11 for pivotally mounting the arm to a door or door pillar and the other end is formed with a pair of oppositely extending lugs or shoulders 12. The arm 10 is threaded through a slot 13 in the check plate assembly 14 which is secured to the door or door pillar as the case may be. The check plate assembly 14 comprises a first part 17 and a second channel-shaped part 18, lugs 21 and 22 on the part 17 .serving to close the outer ends of the housings 26 and 27. Helical compression.springs 25 in the housings 19 and 20 engage U-shaped shoes 26 and 27 which slide along the arm 10 and snap-engage the aperture 16 when .the arm is in the extreme position. In a modification (Figs. 4 and 5, not shown), the shoes have an arcuate concave recess for snapengagement with part-cylindrical projections 34 and 35 on arm 10.
