Abstract

1,159,776. Hand trucks. JARKE CORP. 25 March, 1968, No. 14228/68. Heading B7B. A sheet metal table top 10 is connected by pins 46 to support columns 17, 18 which are slidingly engaged in pedestals 14, 15 secured in spaced relation by a hollow member 11, and mounted on wheeled supports 29, 30. The lower ends of the columns 17, 18 house ball-nuts which engage ball-screws depending vertically from supports secured to the ends of the member 11 the ball screws being rotated by a drive chain housed in the member 11 and operated by the handle 19. A friction disc associated with the drive sprocket which rotates the ball-screw and a ratchet wheel prevents freefall of the table top whilst allowing unimpeded elevation of the table.
