Abstract

Stands. - In a stand for motor-cycles, end members B, B'. mounted on castors or runners R and adjustably connected by struts A, or a tubular bifurcated member, which form or forms a track and support for the cycle wheels, are fitted with upstanding end pieces C, C<x> adapted to embrace the front and rear wheels, and the end piece for the rear wheel is provided with a hinged distancepiece C<2> to allow the machine to pass into position on the stand up inclined rods G connected to the struts or bifurcated member. In order that the supports carried by the machine may be operative when the cycle is mounted, on the stand or truck, a trough D' to receive the lower ends of the supports is adjustably connected by slotted plates D to the member B. The distance apart of the members B, B' is adjusted by means of screw-threads B<2>, B<3> and nuts N, and to prevent springing of the rods G and struts A, they may be staved by a cross-piece or clamp. When the cycle is fitted with a side-car, the side-car wheel is mounted in a spring holder or clip which is carried by a loose block provided with castors. According to the Provisional Specification, the cycle support may be held by a clamp tightened by wing-nuts or the like and adjustable with regard to the member B.
