Abstract

1,158,617. Universal joints. F.F.S.A. 12 April, 1967 [12 April. 1966], No. 16882/67. Heading F2U. In a Hooke's type joint the spider trunnions 18 are mounted in resilient bushes 20 forcefitted, or bonded, in the bores 21 of collars 17 bolted to the yokes of driving and driven flanges 1, 9. The bushes 20 may be of the silentbloc (T.M.) type having an internal steel sleeve 22, or be of moulded rubber, and forcefitted, or adhered to, the trunnion 18 and in the collars 17 respectively, which collars are fixed by bolts 15 which pass through elongated holes 13, 14 in the flange 1 to facilitate correct angular setting of the joint.
