A seam between two metal plates 5, 6 in a cylindrical structure comprises interengaged folded-over portions 7, 8 and nut-and-bolt couplings 12, 13 or spot-welding. The seam may be used to connect adjacent metal plates forming a ring or rings of plates used in constructing a grain silo. The joint-surfaces may be coated with a sealing compound, and a third metal sheet, e.g. a bracket 14, Fig. 3 (not shown), may be included in the seam.
