Abstract

1,158,565. Mill drum linings. SKELLEFTEA GUMMIFABRIKS A.-B. 2 Aug., 1966 [2 Aug., 1965], No. 34681/66. Heading B2A. A wear element for a rotary mill drum comprises at least one wear body formed from a hard material having a hardness of more than 600 Brinell partially embedded and held in an elastic material from the group consisting of rubber and plastics, being attached to the elastic material by vulcanisation or curing as appropriate, whereby the wear element may be fixed on the drum, so as to absorb wear and large impact stresses. The hard material is preferbaly steel having a hardness of 625 Brinell. In .the form shown, the wear element comprises a steel wear body I attached by vulcanisation to a rubber medium 2. The medium 2 is provided with a longitudinal slot 4 into which a steel bar is inserted and fastened by screws to the drum. In a modification, there is a space between adjacent wear bodies which is partially or wholly filled with rubber. In another form steel plates (16) Fig. 5 (not shown) are partially embedded in a rubber medium (15). In a further form, a lifter of a wear lining of a cement mill comprises a rubber medium (18) Fig. 6 (not shown) and wear bodies (16).
