Abstract
1,158,498. Rolling appliances for facilitating movement of heavy bodies. J. P. MATHER. 10 April, 1967 [27 June, 1966], No. 28691/66. Heading B8B. A framework for aiding the transportation of loads comprises two spaced annular members 12 defining a cylindrical portion which may be rolled over the ground and clamp means 15, 16 for supporting the load within the framework during transportation. The members 12 form parts of dish shaped frameworks 10, 11, which are hinged together at 13 and clamped together at 14 to facilitate loading and unloading. Mesh may be provided to cover the frameworks to protect the load. In another embodiment, Fig. 3 (not shown), for transporting a semi-circular sectioned liquid container, the framework comprises a pair of connected spaced annular members which are split at diametrically opposite positions. The resulting half frames are hinged together at one side and clamped at the other. The liquid container is pivotably mounted within the framework about the centre points of a pair of struts extending diametrically across the framework. To facilitate emptying of the container, it is locked to the framework which is then rolled to tilt the container.
