A metal conduit comprises an aluminium or aluminium alloy core 3 covered on all surfaces with a plastics material 4, such as polyvinyl chloride, by an intermediate layer of adhesive 5 based on a synthetic resin. Two such conduits 1 and 2 are shown connected by a spigot- and-socket joint.
