Abstract

115,731. Brooks, W. M. July 5, 1917. Crutches.-A crutch is made from a length of metal tube the upper portion a<1> of which is split and opened out to receive the cross-head c and handle. The junction of the split parts with the main tube is reinforced by a plug h secured within the main tube. The crosshead is secured by U- shaped clips d, half-round fillets f being secured to the inner faces of the tops of the split tubes. The cross-head is of wood, made in two parts separated by springs, and is adjustably mounted by a pin engaging any of a series of holes in the fillets f.
