Abstract
1,157,246. Dibenzothiepin derivatives. RHONE-POULENC S.A. 11 April, 1968 [14 April, 1967], No. 17691/68. Heading C2C. Novel dibenzo[b,f]thiepin derivatives of Formula I, wherein X represents a halogen atom or an alkyl, alkoxy or alkylthio group containing 1 to 5 carbon atoms, and the piperazine nucleus is optionally substituted by one or more methyl groups, and their acid-addition salts and quaternary ammonium derivatives, are prepared by (a) reacting a compound of Formula II, in which the piperazine nucleus is optionally substituted by one or more methyl radicals, with a compound of Formula III, in which Y represents a reactive ester residue, or (b) reacting a compound of Formula IV with a compound of Formula V or (c) reacting a compound of Formula VI with a compound of Formula VII, followed, if necessary, by salification or quaternization of the compound obtained. Pharmaceutical compositions, having neuroleptic, sedative, tranquilizing, anti-emetic and antiserotonin activity, for oral, parenteral or rectal administration, comprise one of the novel compounds together with a pharmaceutical carrier.
