Abstract
1,157,197. Telescopes. ELTRO G.m.b.H. & CO. GESELLSCHAFT FœR STRAHLUNGSTECHNIK. Nov.10, 1967 [Dec. 6, 1966], No.51210/67. Heading G2J. [Also in Division H4] In an image display system in which incident laser radiation e.g. of infrared frequency, is focused by a lens 5 on to the photo-cathode of image converter tube 1 and the resulting electron beam is focused via electrostatic aperture stop 3 on to the luminescent screen 4 which is viewed via lens 6, a circular mash 8 of diameter D=df/ (a-f) is arranged with its centre on the optical axis of the system a distance b = af/(a-f) from lens 5, where # is the focal length of lens 5, a is the distance between the aperture stop 3 and lens 5, and d is the aperture diameter of the aperture stop. Mask 8 represents the image of stop 3 formed by lens 5. It is stated that mask 8 protects the eye against laser radiation. Two systems may be arranged side by side for binocular viewing.
