Abstract

1,156,542. Tipping vehicles. " AUTOMATIC " SPRINKLER CORP. OF AMERICA. 30 Aug., 1966, No. 38619. Heading B7B. A trailer such as a mine car is unloaded by running it down an incline 7 to discharge the load on to the conveyer 10. The tow-bar 2 is housed in the underside of a raised channel member in the trailer floor and the body is supported on wheel mounting plates 18 rigidy connected to a torsion bar 19. During unloading when the leading wheels descend the incline, the torque rods exert a force on the trailer body to help dislodge the load, resilient stops 10a providing a further force. The inclined part 7 may also be provided with corrugations to impart a vertical motion to the load to facilitate discharge.
