Abstract

115,638. Jenny, J. May 10, 1917, [Convention date]. Roller heads.-Stationary flat plates 7, 8 cooperating with weighting-members 9, 10 with flat surfaces are arranged between the pairs of drawing-rollers in the drawing-apparatus for a spinning frame for cotton and other slivers. The forward edges of the plates are sharpened whilst the rear edges are rounded off. The members 9, 10 are wedge shaped, being sharp at the rear end and rounded off at the other end. They are carried loosely in the slotted ends of sloping stirrups 12, 13, the upper ends of which rest on rails 14. The plates 7, 8 extend across the machine, their upper surfaces lying in the plane of travel of the sliver. The width of the members 9, 10 corresponds to the length of the upper drawing-rollers.
