1,156,162. Substituted 5,11 - dihydrodibenz- [b,e][1,4]-oxazepines. E. R. SQUIBB & SONS Inc. 22 Aug., 1966, No. 37439/66. Heading C2C. 5 - (Aminoalkyl) - 5,11 - dihydrodibenz- [b,e][1,4]-oxazepines are prepared by reacting an aminoalkyl halide with a 5,11-dihydrodibenz-[b,e][1,4]-oxazepine in the presence of an excess of powdered sodium hydroxide in acetone or an excess of sodium hydride in dry tetrahydrofuran as the condensation agent. Either or both of the benzene rings in the above compounds may be substituted by a halogen atom or alkyl, alkoxy, trifluoromethyl, trifluoromethyl-mercapto, trifluoromethoxy or N,N- dimethylaminosulphonyl radicals.
