Abstract

1,156,149. Spiral staircases. R. PACE. 28 Sept., 1966 [7 Oct., 1965], No. 43317/66. Heading E1B. A spiral staircase is composed of overlapping rectangular treads N carried by respective cantilever frames on a central post F. As shown in Fig. 4, each frame comprises two transverse angle members R 4 secured to the legs of a U-strap R 1 welded to the post F. In a modification the U-strap is replaced by a sleeve M1, Fig. 5, rigid with a pair of arms M2, the sleeves being threaded on the central post and clamped by screws P.
