1,155,949. Sintered fibrous bodies. RHEINISCH-WESTFALISCHES ELEKTRIZITATSWERK A.G. Jan. 2, 1967 [NOV. 12, 1966], No. 3/67. Heading C7D. [Also in Division D1] Sintered porous plates e.g. for accumulators are made by electro sintering of a felt like mass of carded metallic or metallized fibres by passing an electric current through the mass at right angles to the preferred fibre orientation from electrodes in contact with the opposite faces of the mass. The fibres may be of glass, silica or slag wool metallized with Ni and layers of the fibres carded into a felt are compacted by electrodes which also pass the sintering current through the fibres.
