Abstract

1,154,973. Radiographic apparatus; film pack. INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORP. 9 Jan., 1967 [10 Jan., 1966], No. 1113/67. Heading H5R. An apparatus for producing a radiographic image of an object or person, consists of:-a source of X-radiation, a support for the object or person, the support being positioned between. the source and an image recording means, which means consists of an assembly of at least two radiation sensitivefilms located to receive in succession the radiation passing through the object or person from the source, with a filter which attenuates certain portions of this radiation placed between the films, together with a means to produce either positive or negative phographs from the exposed films and with means for projecting and combining the images in said photographs with selected respective intensities to produce a single image on a common surface. The filter may be of copper being used as shown in Fig. 1 to remove from the complete radiographic image of the subject 7 those radiation intensities which may be said to correspond to the bone 9, and the fat 10 of the subject to produce films 13, 17, 21, which may be processed and projected at a chosen intensity (Fig. 2) to give a composite image showing any desired feature of the subject.
