Abstract
1,154,637. A.C. signalling. INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ELECTRIC CORP. 21 Sept., 1967 [27 Sept., 1966], No. 42938/67., Heading H4K. In an A.C. signalling system an A.C. signal voltage source is applied, via transformer T 1 to transistors Q and Q<SP>1</SP> to provide a constant current source which may be fed via a variable resistance circuit due, e.g. to variable contact resistance of selectors S 1 , S 2 &c., to provide a constant signalling voltage across resistors R 5 and R<SP>1</SP> 5 for utilization via transformer T 2 . Zener diode Z sets the standing currents of transistors Q and Q<SP>1</SP>, which are equal, to produce equal voltage drops across resistors R 5 and R<SP>1</SP> 5 and therefore no voltage drop across transformer T 2 primary which therefore carries no D.C. A.C. signals are applied in push pull to the transistors Q and Q<SP>1</SP> to produce an A.C. signal across transformer T 2 .
