Abstract

1,154,592. Metal mixers. NIPPON KOKAN K.K. and NIPPON ENG. CO. Ltd. 8 June, 1966 [8 June, 1965], No. 25583/66. Heading F4B A mixer for pig-iron comprises a furnace body 1, a plurality of rockers each comprising rollers 3 adjustably mounted in a holder 4 between a carriage 5 and a bind ring 2, and a rack 6 coupled by means of a pin 9 to a projection 8 on the furnace and engaged by a motor driven pinion 7 for tilting the mixer, the adjustable mounting of the rollers 3 being such that the axis about which they rotate can be angularly adjusted so that rocking the mixer causes slight adjustment in the position of the furnace body relative to the rollers. Relative displacement of adjacent holders may also be corrected. Openings 11 and 12 are provided for discharging iron and slag, respectively.
