Abstract
1,154,200. Electro-physical measurement, linear dimensions. O. JORG. April 25, 1968 [May 9, 1967], No.19596/68. Heading G1N. Lateral deviations of a band-saw blade from its path of movement are detected by an inductive probe. The probe (12) is constructed as a "pot" inductance adjustably mounted on the saw guide, Figs. 1, 2 (not shown) and connected in a bridgecircuit with an indicator meter and warning lamps. The Specification states that a capacitative probe could be used. In one circuit arrangement Fig. 4 the bridge output is connected through a transformer 54 and rectifiers 57, 58 to transistor amplifier 60 to operate the meter 37. The voltage deviation appearing at the collector of the output transistor 62 causes one of the Zener-diodes 67 to 72 to conduct whereby lamp 69 to 70 is energized. In a more sophisticated arrangement Fig. 5 (not shown) temperature compensation, and coarse and fine adjustment of the bridge balance is provided; the deviation signal amplitude is limited by diodes (154, 155); supply voltage compensation is provided by a reference voltage from transformer (162) fed through Zener-diodes (163, 164) and adjustment is provided for amplifer sensitivity and operating point of the warning lamps".
