Abstract
1,153,172. Preventing corrosion. METAL & PIPELINE ENDURANCE Ltd. and J.D. SLATTER. May 27, 1966 [May 28, 1965], No. 22819/65. Heading C7E. An electrode for use in a stream of liquid, e.g. for cathodic protection of a sea-water pump, comprises a tube 10 of e.g. titanium coated with platinum having a helical rib or groove or (as shown) holes 12 to prevent vibrations being set up by the flow of liquid. The electrode may be partly filled with sand 13; and the end of the electrode remote from the holder may be open.
