Abstract

1,150,889. Bolted joints. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. 19 Sept., 1966 [29 Nov., 1965], No. 50594/65. Heading F2H. The flanges 1 and 3 on a steam turbine casing are joined by a plurality of bolts 9 each made from a metal of high creep strength, e.g. a nickelbased non-ferritic alloy, and threaded at each end to engage threaded bushes 11 of a similar material, which are received in nuts 13 of much lower creep strength. A bush 11 may be located in a blind bore in one flange instead of a nut 13.
