Abstract

1,150,822. Gripper axminster looms. BRINTONS Ltd. 19 Feb., 1968 [22 Feb., 1967], No. 8399/67. Heading D1E. A pile carrier 1 for a gripper Axminster loom has pegs 8 which are acted on directly by the reading needles 20 by way of links 15 which are sufficiently flexible to be able to move with the carrier 1. The links may be Bowden cables or may be wires formed to the needles and pegs by coil springs. A selected peg protrudes from the carrier and is acted upon by oppositely reciprocating blades 7 to bring the carrier to the selected position. Springs 20 return the pegs after selection.
