In a syphonic device for use in a flushing cistern in which the flush is initiated by a piston 6 and a washer 14 on the piston co-operates with a port or ports 12 to provide 'a full or partial flush, the washer 14 is provided with at least 3 resilient curved arms 15 to assist in the removal of the washer from the ports.
