Abstract

1,150,733. Cotters. AUSTIN HOY & CO. Ltd. 19 July, 1966 [20 July, 1965], No. 30912/65. Heading F2H. [Also in Divisions E1 and E2] In the securing of a shanked tool in a holder a shoulder 1c between the head 1b and the shank 1a of the tool 1 is biased against the holder 2 after the shank has been entered into the holder. The biasing is caused by the insertion of a pin 5 into aligned bores 3 and 4 in the holder and shank, the pin so co-operating with the shank and holder as to form a resilient connection therebetween whilst positively retaining the shank in the holder. Preferably the pin causes compression of an elastic insert 6 in the lower portion of the bore 4 in the shank.
