Abstract

1,150,674. Endless conveyers. AUTOPACK Ltd. 11 April, 1968 [28 April, 1967], No. 19737/67. Heading B8A. Articles 23 are delivered at random from a feed device 20 down a gap 21 of at least the maximum width of the articles and formed between a vertical plane tangential to a roller 13 driven in such a direction that the surface forming one side of the gap is moving upwardly to prevent the jamming of articles in said gap and a parallel vertical plane aligned with one edge 22 of an endless conveyer belt 10 to which the articles are fed. Disposed over said belt conveyer 10 on its path to a packing machine 12 to which the articles are delivered in a linear orderly fashion is a roller 14 acting as a barrier across said belt to remove any overlapping articles on to a further endless conveyer belt 11 disposed parallel to and slightly above the conveyer belt 10 and moving in the opposite direction. The belt 11 extends back beyond the feed device 20 where a guide 24 transfers articles thereon back to the conveyer 10. A roller 25 adjacent the transfer position assists in said transfer. The rollers 13, 14 and 25 and the conveyer belts 10, 11 are driven from a common motor 16.
