Abstract

1,150,478. Sealing dock gates. HEAD WRIGHTSON & CO. Ltd. 8 Dec., 1967 [15 Dec., 1966], No. 56210/66. Heading E1H. A mitre type dock gate 1,2 in which the heel post 4, the mitre post 5, and the sill (at 7, the sill 6 being shown in Fig. 4, which is section A-A of Fig. 1) of each gate section having fixed thereto sealing members 8 of a resilient and deformable material to provide a continuous seal, the sealing members are of uniform cross-section and are arranged and constructed to be self adjusting to take up inaccuracies in the length of the gate sections and/or in the faces of the opening 3 in which the gate is installed. Each mitre post 5 has locating or stop means 19 and thrust pads and/or shims are provided between said means 19 and the post to provide adjustment.
