Abstract

1,150,032. Tubular heat exchangers. LEAMKUHL, A.S. 23 March, 1967 [30 March, 1966], No. 13862/67. Heading F4S. A heat exchanger comprises a casing 10 in which are disposed parallel rows of symmetrically spaced metal tubes 4 with intervening resilient corrugated metal plates 2, one fluid medium passing through the tubes and the other fluid medium passing countercurrently between the plates 8 and over the tubes. The plate and tube assembly initially occupies more space'than is available in the casing so that when the casing is closed by the side wall 1, the corrugations of adjacent plates are forced into contact with each other and with the tubes 4. Channels 8 formed within the assembly may be filled with a heat conductive material (unspecified).
