Abstract

1,149,983. Coaxial resonators. PATELHOLD PATENTVERWERTUNGS- & ELEKTRO-HOLDING A.G. 24 July, 1967 [25 July, 1966], No. 33846/67. Heading H1W. [Also in Division H2] Variation of frequency with temperature in a coaxial resonator 1 is compensated by the temperature-variable capacitance existing between a tuning plunger 4 and a bimetallic sleeve 5. The sleeve, which may be axially adjustable, is formed with longitudinal slits 6 which divide its free end into a number of bimetallic strips. These respond to temperature changes by bending radially. The temperature-dependent retroactive effect of a diode 8 in the output circuit 9 of the resonator is automatically compensated by virtue of the fact that both the retroaction and the degree of compensation increase with frequency. Compensation increases with frequency since the bimetallic strips cover a greater area of the tuning plunger as the frequency increases. The output impedance of the resonator is regulated by a plunger 10.
