Abstract

1,149,715. Roller conveyers. RUBERY, OWEN & CO. Ltd. 8 Feb., 1968 [21 Feb., 1967], No. 8082/67. Heading B8A. An elevator for loading gas cylinders or bottles on to a vehicle comprises a wheeled chassis 10 which supports an elevator frame 13 whose inclination can be adjusted by hydraulic jacks 16, 17. To one side of the frame is a freerunning roller track 21 over which extend vertically spaced dogs 32, 33 mounted on flight bars 31 which are attached to parallel driven chains 28, 29. Rubber-covered rollers (43, 44), Fig. 3 (not shown), on the dogs 32, 33 engage the bottles. Sheet panelling 45 guards the downwardly moving run of the chains, flight bars and dogs. Short arcuate roller sections 46, 49 facilitate loading and unloading and have guide members 51, 52 for the bottles. The elevator is stabilized by ground-engaging jacks 12.
