Abstract

1,149,254. Concrete vibrator. E.U. PASQUA. 28 Sept., 1966 [29 Sept, 1965], No. 43251/66. Heading B1C. A submersible concrete vibrator has a resilient tapering shaft 14 carrying at its free end a body 17 and an unbalanced mass 18, and/or the other end connected by a flexible connector 13 to a coupling shaft 7 mounted on bearings 5, 6 is the casing 4 and connected to the drive shaft 24 by a detachable coupling 9. The connector 13 may be of rubber-like material, ductile metal or laminated synthetic resin, or may be a spring steel wire coil. In operation the drive to shaft 14 is applied, as rapidly as possible, when the end of the shaft 14 deflects rapidly, strikes the inner well of the bore 21, and thereafter continues to bounce round it striking a succession of blows while following a generally epicycloidal path.
