Abstract

1,148,897. Missile target-finding system. TELEFUNKEN PATENTVERWERTUNGS G.m.b.H. 20 May, 1966 [25 May, 1965], No. 22643/66. Heading F3A. Missile target-finding system wherein a supervising " instrument gyro " subjected to the same input values as, or to input values derived from, a " free working gyro " is employed to determine and correct the approximate deviations of the " free working gyro ". The " free working gyro " is used to stabilize a directional receiver responsive to radiation emitted by the target, e.g. an infra-red system, or, to radiation reflected from a target " illuminated " by a radar transmitter on the ground or carried by the missile. The supervising " instrument gyro " may be an attitude gyro optionally equipped with an integrator, a rate of turn gyro equipped with an integrator, or, a turn indicating gyro equipped with two integrators.
