Abstract

1,147,894. Valves. VICTOR ENTERPRISES Ltd. 21 July, 1966 [23 July, 1965], No. 32762/66. Heading F2V. A combined pressure and vacuum relief valve which may also be opened manually and by a temperature responsive device comprises a diaphragm 3 carrying a seat member 1 and supported by radial fingers 4 projecting from an annular ring 46. A closure disc 2 supported by radial arms 9 connected to a ring 10 normally seats against the seat member to prevent flow therethrough. Excess pressures in the inlet 15 are relieved by the diaphragm lifting against springs 7 to unseat member 1 from disc 2. Vacuum pressures in the inlet are relieved by the disc 2 moving away from member 1. A fusible plug 8 is provided. A thermal element (17) in the inlet may act on diaphragm 3 via fingers (18), and a manually operated rod (19) extending through the outlet 14 may unseat disc 2. Annular check valves 20 and/or 22 may provide vacuum relief if the outlet is blocked.
