Abstract

1,146,792. Coumarin derivatives. CASSELLA FARBWERKE MAINKUR A.G. 20 June, 1967, No. 28443/67. Addition to 1,014,053. Heading C2C. Novel coumarin derivatives of formula (wherein the two symbols X represent halogen atoms or nitro groups, or one X is a halogen atom or nitro group and the other X is hydrogen, R 1 is a heterocyclylalkyl or optionally N-substituted aminoalkyl radical, R 2 is alkyl or aryl, and R 3 is aminoalkyl (optionally N-substituted), alkenyl, alkoxycarbonylalkyl, or carboxyalkyl) are prepared by reaction of a compound of formula R 3 Hal with the corresponding 7- hydroxy coumarin, the latter being prepared by halogenation or nitration of the corresponding 7-hydroxy-5,6,8-unsubstituted coumarin. Pharmaceutical compositions suitable for oral or parenteral administration comprise a compound of Formula (I) above or hydrochloride thereof together with a conventional carrier. The active ingredients are characterized by coronary vasodilatory action.
