1,146,783. Double-screw extruders. KABEL UND METALLWERKE GUTEHOFFNUNGSHUTTE A.G. 9 May, 1967 [2 June, 1966], No. 21529/67. Heading B5A. An extrusion press for simultaneously extruding two rubber or thermoplastic materials of different colour and/or chemical structure in separate flows comprises two screws 2, 3, the latter being coaxial with and placed immediately within the former. The screws are driven through respective gears 6, 7 which are connected frictionally either to a single common drive or to an individual motor by gears 8. The screws may have different pitches and rotate in opposite senses. Extrusion of tubes, hoses and core insulations is mentioned.
