Abstract
1,146,104. Tris (#-cyanoalkyl) tin hydroxide. M & T CHEMICALS Inc. 3 Jan., 1967 [3 Jan., 1966], No. 345/67. Heading C2J. The invention comprises an organotin hydroxide of the formula in which m is an integer of at least 2. It is prepared by reacting in an aqueous organic solvent a halide in which X is chlorine, bromine or iodine, with a metal oxide capable of forming a corresponding metal halide less soluble in the reaction medium than the organotin hydroxide; Ag 2 O and Tl 2 O are suitable metal oxides. Molar ratios of organotin halide to metal oxide may vary from the stoichiometric amount up to 1: 5.
