Abstract
1,144,907. R.F. couplings; valve oscillating circuits. SIEMENS-SCHUCKERTWERKE A.G. 8 July, 1966 [9 July, 1965], No. 30906/66. Headings H3F and H4A. An inductive heating apparatus comprises an H.F. oscillator having a power output valve R with a tank circuit formed by a capacitor CT and an inductor LT. The tank circuit is coupled to a resonant heating circuit formed by a capacitor CH and an inductive coil LH, inside which is placed a semi-conductor material specimen S to be heated. C H is made not more than 40 times as great as C T . The coupling between the circuits may be made critical or over-critical and the oscillator frequency may lie either on the capacitive flank or the inductive flank of the heating circuit resonance curve. In the former case coupling is preferably effected by a capacitor C K, and in the latter case by an inductor L K. The oscillator frequency may be adjusted by means of a trimmer capacitor paralleled across the capacitor C T .
