Abstract
1,144,792. Automatic control of speed. MULLARD Ltd. March 10, 1966, No. 10571/66. Heading G3R. In a system for controlling the speed of a D.C. motor 45, by adjustment of the firing angle of thyristors in a rectifier bridge B in response to its back e.m.f. a protection circuit G is provided comprising a thermistor connected to the thyristor trigger circuit I so as to reduce the back e.m.f. signal current thereto when the motor is starting or running at low speed. The reduced signal at low speed has the effect of delaying triggering more than would be due to the lower back e.m.f. alone, so that the feedback circuit remains in its stable range. Desired speed is set on a potentiometer in a back e.m.f. bridge circuit E. Separate limitation of the back e.m.f. and the motor current is provided by circuits F, H which are not described.
