[Also in Division G2] Compounds of the formula wherein one of X and Y is a group -NR 1 R 2 (in which R 1 and R 2 are individually C 1-5 alkyl) and the other is a group -NHR 3 (in which R 3 is C 6-18 acyl), M is hydrogen or C 1-5 alkyl and n is 2, 3 or 4, or acid addition salts thereof may be obtained by converting a diamino-carboxylic acid (e.g. ornithine, lysine) having a di-C 1-5 alkyl substituent at either one of N<SP>α</SP>- and N<SP>#</SP>- positions into the copper salt or ester and reacting the resulting compound with a C 6-18 acylating agent (e.g. stearoyl, myristoyl, lauroyl, palmitoyl, oleyl or caproyl acid chlorides).
