Abstract
1,143,313. Weighing apparatus. S.H. LEVINSON. July 12, 1967 [July 22, 1966], No.32137/67. Heading G1W. In an arrangement for weighing a train of coupled railway cars, the cars are pushed over an approach track section 15 towards a weighbridge 5 and are caused to pass successively over the weighbridge, the cars then being arranged to move down an inclined track section 13 so that the couplers of the cars as they pass successively over the weighbridge are substantially freed from vertical force transmitting relationship with the couplers of adjacent cars. Level track sections 10, 11 are arranged between the weighbridge 5 and the inclined track section 13 and the approach track section 15 respectively, the approach track section 15 also being inclined. The relative dimensions of the weighbridge, track sections and railway cars may be such that each car can be weighed one bogie at a time or one axle at a time.
