Abstract

1,143,296. Olefin polymer compositions. SUN OIL CO. 19 May, 1967 [17 June, 1966], No. 23404/67. Heading C3P. [Also in Division C5] A wax laminating composition comprises a microcrystalline petroleum wax of M.Pt. 169- 179‹ F., penetration (at 77‹ F.) 10-20, and viscosity (at 210‹ F.) 70-85 SUS, and 1-50% by weight, based on the mixture, of a solid, substantially amorphous C 2 -C 8 α-olefin polymer or copolymer. Specified α-olefins are ethylene, propylene, butene-1, isobutene, pentene-1, 4-methylpentene-1, hexene-1, and mixtures thereof, preferred polymers being atactic polypropylene, propylene - ethylene copolymer, or polyisobutene. Examples I-III disclose blends of atactic polypropylene and microcrystalline wax.
