Abstract

1,143,097. Discharge lamps; lasers. CSFCOMPAGNIE GENERALE DE TELEGRAPHIE SANS FIL. 17 Feb., 1967 [25 Feb., 1966; 22 April, 1966], No. 7814/67. Headings H1C and H1D. A flash lamp 1 in the form of a spiral wound around the ruby 2 of a laser, and enclosed in a jacket 3 through which coolant circulates, includes a cathode 5 earthed through lead 6, and an anode 7 surrounded by a conductive screen 8 which encloses the end of the tube and is electrically connected to the anode. The arrangement of the screen around the anode is stated to increase the striking voltage of the lamp.
